Arin ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and how we keep it safe when you use the Arin mobile application and website (collectively, the "Services").
By using Arin, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the Services.
1. Information We Collect
Account information: When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and any profile information you provide.
Health and fitness data: With your explicit permission, Arin accesses health and workout data from Apple HealthKit, Whoop, Garmin, and other connected devices. This includes activity metrics such as distance, calories burned, workout duration, and consecutive training days. We do not sell or share this data with third parties for advertising purposes.
Payment information: Financial transactions are processed through Stripe. We do not store your full payment card details on our servers. Stripe's privacy policy governs the handling of your payment information.
Usage data: We collect information about how you interact with the app, including features used, challenge history, and device identifiers, to improve the Services.
Communications: If you contact us for support or feedback, we may retain those communications.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to operate and improve the Arin platform, process challenge entries and distribute payouts, verify goal completion through connected devices, communicate with you about your account and challenges, comply with applicable laws and regulations, and prevent fraud and ensure platform integrity.
3. Health Data
Arin accesses health and fitness data solely for the purpose of verifying challenge completion. We do not use your health data for advertising, sell it to third parties, or share it beyond what is necessary to operate the platform. You may revoke health data permissions at any time through your device settings, though this may affect your ability to participate in challenges.
4. Sharing Your Information
We do not sell your personal information. We may share your information with service providers who help us operate the platform (such as Stripe for payments and Firebase for infrastructure), when required by law or legal process, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of Arin and its users.
Your display name and challenge progress may be visible to other participants in any challenge you join.
5. Data Retention
We retain your account and transaction data for as long as your account is active and as required by applicable law. You may request deletion of your account and associated data by contacting us at privacy@arin.app. Note that transaction records may be retained for legal and financial compliance purposes.
6. Security
We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit and at rest. However, no method of transmission over the internet is completely secure and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Children's Privacy
Arin is not intended for users under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If we become aware that a minor has created an account, we will take steps to delete that account.
8. Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal information, withdraw consent for data processing, and request a copy of the data we hold about you. To exercise these rights, contact us at privacy@arin.app.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via the app or email. Continued use of the Services after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
